What is a Super Visa?
Unlike a regular visitor visa that allows stays of only 6 months, the Super Visa offers:
Initial stay of up to 5 years per entry
Multiple-entry validity of up to 10 years
No need to renew status every 6 months

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for a Super Visa, you must:
- Be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Have a signed invitation letter from your child or grandchild in Canada
- Provide proof of income showing the host meets Minimum Necessary Income (MNI)
- Undergo a medical exam and purchase Canadian medical insurance
- Show ties to your home country and intent to return after the visit
Documents Required
- Valid Passport
- Letter of invitation from child/grandchild
- Proof of relationship (birth certificate, etc.)
- Medical insurance coverage (minimum $100,000) valid for at least 1 year
- Proof of financial support from sponsor (Notice of Assessment, employment letter, etc.)
- Completed visa application forms
- Medical and police clearance (as required)
