When to Renew Your PR Card
You should apply for a renewal if:
- Your PR card is expired or will expire soon (typically within 6 months)
- Your card is lost, stolen, or damaged
- Your legal name or other personal details have changed
- You need a valid card for travel or identification purposes
Note: A PR card does not affect your permanent resident status. However, without a valid card, you may not be able to board commercial transportation to Canada.
